Dundee's first Pecha Kucha Night took place last November and over 200 people joined us on that dreich Tuesday night to hear from a stellar line up of 12 diverse creative presenters - PKN gives creative people the chance to talk about whatever they fancy - their creative talents, passions or their adventures so far! The feedback and buzz following the first event has been brilliant, PKN has already been highlighted as a great boost to Dundee's thriving creative scene.

Pecha Kucha Night Dundee volume 2 is here and as it sold out quickly last time around, please do make sure you register in advance to avoid disappointment. If you would like a flavour of what to expect at a PKN night, check out the presentation videos here.

Creative Dundee is the host organiser of PKN in Dundee and you can find more info at: http://www.creativedundee.com/pkndundee2

Here is the final PKN line-up!

Catrin Jeans is an event-based artist practicing in Dundee. Last summer she constructed a 24hour endurance performance in Generator Projects, designed to encourage viewers to participate as artist’s in a performance through an internationally familiar medium; a game of football. This has been her favourite project to date – though she hopes she hasn’t peaked too early and strives for future success with her current projects ‘Crawl Inclusive‘ and ‘Apocalypse Now Now‘.

Mike Press is Professor of Design Policy at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, where he also runs the design and craft programme. Author of three books, over 100 articles and contributor to TV programmes on design, he holds committed views on creative education and its value to the wider society.

Euan Gray is an architectural designer and maker of things. At the moment he’s developing and building bespoke handmade shelters that fit into ruined croft houses, forests, gardens and empty spaces. They reconnect people and lost places in an accessible and low impact way. He’s interested in the ideas behind objects as much as the objects themselves.

Graeme McGowan and Craig Laverty are two friends who started up their creative agency JamHot just over four years ago. Based in Glasgow, the company works across digital, design & campaigns – mainly for arts, entertainment, leisure & retail clients including the likes of Xscape, Scottish Opera, EventScotland and The Royal Yacht Britannia.

Maria Maclennan is a contemporary design researcher, sometime lecturer and current Ph.D. student at DJCAD. Her current research into ‘Forensic’ Jewellery Identification is being conducted in partnership with the world-renowned Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification (CAHID), the Institute for Capitalising on Creativity (ICC) at The University of St. Andrews, The British Association for Human Identification (BAHID), and the up-and-coming V&A at Dundee.

Lucy Haighton is a student in her final year studying Contemporary Dance Performance at The Space. She has been training in Contemporary Dance for the last four years and is due to graduate in May. Among many performances, she has performed as part of the Company Symposium Productions at the Brighton and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals 2011.

Two Dolls are Writer Zoe Venditozzi and Visual Artist Jill Skulina. Since June 2010 they have worked with Literary Dundee, DCA, The Hilltown Project and N.ILK. They have collaborated on exhibitions for Hannah Maclure Centre, The Outbye Gallery and the Cupar Arts Festival. There are plans for a collaborative book and Zoe’s, novel Anywhere’s Better Than Here, will be published in October. Between them they have 4 children, one husband and a puppy.

Spex Pistol’s Richard Cook has been a lens maker since 1987 when he was turned down for an apprenticeship by the Construction Industry Training Board. During his 15 years working for many of the leading High Street optical Brands, he found that customers craved good service and individuality. He started Spex Pistols in Dndee’s West Port with a mission to dispell the idea that ‘indie is more expensive’

My Alice Band are an acoustic cover band from Dundee featuring Alice Marra (The Hazey Janes). Covering various styles of music from traditional and folk to country, pop and jazz – they have something for everyone to enjoy. At PKN the will be joined by singing friends, Clare Brennan and Rosie Ivins for two songs Mary and the soldier (traditional) and Oh my love (The Staves).

Danny Parker is a Senior Engineer for Proper Games, a games company based in Dundee. Having worked on many titles for many platforms over the years Danny has recently gone back to what made him interested in the games industry in the first place, making great games just for the fun of it.

Ged Young is the principle of Aim Design an award winning Dundee based hybrid design company that specialises in Architecture, Interior & Graphic design as well as branding and exhibition work. They practice a studio R&D approach to their work. The District 10 master plan and subsequent development of shipping container buildings has been an exciting initiative for Aim, combining experimental modular building processes on a large community scale. Are containers ever meant to be beautiful? Can we live and work in them? They think you can!

What is Pecha Kucha? Pecha Kucha Nights* were originally started back in 2003 in Tokyo, as an event for creatives to meet, network, and talk about their work in public. Since then Pecha Kucha, meaning 'chit chat' in Japanese, has spread internationally running in over 460 cities across the world. The much loved and respected format is relaxed, simple and enjoyable, with something for everyone – presenters have 6 minutes 40 seconds to show and talk through their 20 images, each for just 20 seconds - this keeps things fast and fun!

*Pecha Kucha was devised and shared by Klein Dytham architecture. The PKN Dundee event is organised by Creative Dundee
